Trongsa to Bumthang

Birded the road in the am and drove to Chumey for lunch at Chumey Nature Resort http://www.chumeynatureresort.com/accommodations.html. very nice place that does Buddhism courses and retreats. I definitely would be up for returning to this place.
Nearby we were able to catch the last afternoon of the Prakhar Tshechu. This is a lesser known village festival but considered one of the best in terms of the traditional dances. The dancers are all monks from the Nimalung monastery.Unlike like in the Black-Necked Crane festival, the monks playing the drums, cymbals and  giant trumpets were possible to photograph. Although still not easily done without interfering in the dance. Obviously popular with the local people, the square was tightly packed,  it made for a very intimate experience. just outside the monastery court there were small tents and game areas. In the Kitchen area I was interested to watch the preparations for the night feast. Yep... " vegetarian, I am a vegetarian". my new mantra.
