We decided to concentrate on revisiting some of our favourite places in Kathmandu so today we walked down to Durbar square http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathmandu_Durbar_Square which is now a museum area that you pay a fee to enter. In a way I liked it in the past as there were more vendors that the locals would use allowed in the space since no locals other than trinket sales and guides about there were no need for them. We then headed to Swayambunath http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swayambhunath also known as the Monkey temple and walked up the 200 feet of stairs to the top. Every bit the climb we remember but twenty years later bit us in the butt. This is both a Buddhist and Hindu holy place and affords a great view of Kathmandu. We made our way back to our hotel for a siesta as the 12 km we put on walking between sites took its toll, especially given the amount of travel we just finished. Had a quick pizza at one of the local restaurants and called it a night.
